Building a gingerbread house is not for the weak-of-heart, master builder Kevin Kiley will teach a free class in construction and design in advance of the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor’s popular Gingerbread Spectacular.
The class is intended for both novices and seasoned designers and is an opportunity for all to discuss what has — and hasn’t — worked in any previous gingerbread construction. There will be both demonstrations and hands-on activities. The class is open to all ages, but children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Though there is no charge for the gingerbread house-building class, participants are asked to call 633-5159 to register in advance. The class will be held in the performance hall on the first floor of the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor. The classroom space is handicapped accessible.
