The public is invited to come to The Lincoln Home in Newcastle from 3-4 p.m., Monday, Aug. 8 to hear Russ Lane Jr. tell a riveting tale of his father, Russell A. Lane. A local hero, Russell Lane was a lighthouse keeper at the Whitehead Light Station. His son will share his documentary film showing the heroic rescue of five young people from a sinking sailboat in Penobscot Bay. The film documents an emotional reunion between the shipmates and their rescuers 57 years later.
