The United Way of Mid Coast Maine Walk-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, March 29 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the Central Lincoln County YMCA, 525 Main Street, Damariscotta. Join us for this exciting event dedicated to helping give kids the best start in our community. By participating in this event, you’ll be supporting 50 local programs and initiatives and 8,000 people in Lincoln County respond to emerging and unmet community needs, meet their missions, and have the resources they need to thrive. All proceeds go to the United Way of Mid Coast Maine Community Fund. Each participant is encouraged to raise at least

The next Ocean on Tap event will take place on April 24th from 6-7pm at Footbridge Brewery. Dr. Laura Sofen of the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences will be speaking about the world’s most remote ocean region. Come experience a virtual reality rendering of a 2-month expedition in 2021-2022 from Tahiti to Chile and learn about the phytoplankton and chemistry along this variable transect.
Ocean on Tap is an informal, ocean-centric speaker series organized by researchers from Bigelow Laboratory and hosted by Footbridge Brewery in Boothbay Harbor. Our goal is to bring people of the community together over the fascinating world of the ocean. At these events, speakers will share their corner of expertise in the ocean, and attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
