Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in East Boothbay invites the public to find out at a tour of their facilities from 3-4:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12. Visitors will receive a behind-the-scenes glance of the advanced scientific instruments and lab spaces used by Bigelow Lab researchers. Bigelow scientists will also discuss their research topics on the tour, which include marine microbes, seafood health, aquaculture, ocean acidification, and climate change.
The tour is free, open to the public, and appropriate for children age 10 and older. No pets are allowed. The laboratory is handicapped-accessible and parking is available on site.
