This tour will combine Newcastle’s Glidden Street Cemetery and downtown Damariscotta on an adventure in discovery of history, gravestone symbolism, ghosts and more!
The Lady in the Red Cloak will guide you through the cemetery for a little over an hour and explain the stories of some of those interred there, the reasons for certain burial customs, what the symbols on the stones mean, etc. This walk takes place on uneven terrain, so please wear appropriate footwear.
After a short break, you will meet her downtown and carrying her lantern, she’ll elaborate on some of those early residents you’ve already learned about, walk you through the back streets and visit spots known to have paranormal activity!
