Spectrum Generations day at the village, learn about how technologies like steam engines and the automobile changed life along the coast of Maine between 1850 and 1950. You’ll start your visit with a talk by one of the Railroad Museum’s staff members about the museum’s history and about some of the specific items in the collection you’ll experience during your self-guided tour.
Everyone who wants will have the opportunity to the ride in a vintage coach behind a vintage steam or diesel locomotive. One of the village’s most popular attractions are the resident goats who delight visitors of all ages with their antics. From a display of hundreds of salt & pepper shakers to a collection of nearly 60 antique cars and trucks, and the new outboard motor exhibit donated by Larry Stevenson there truly is something for everyone in your family at the Boothbay Railroad Village, Route 27, Boothbay.
Special Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center Day (Monday, July 25) entrance fee: $6. To participate in the special Coastal Center welcome and introduction to the museum gather in front of the Village’s Town Hall at 1:00 p.m. To express your interest and to have your name added to the Coastal Center Boothbay Railroad Village guest list call 563-1363 by 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25.
Consider carpooling from Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta. Call 563-1363 to express your interest being a car pool driver or passenger. Departure time negotiable between drivers and passengers.
