One can gain the skills necessary to get a good job by attending two free job-seeker workshops being offered through a partnership of Central Lincoln County Adult Education and Goodwill Workforce Solutions. The workshops will be held at the CLC Adult Education office, at 767 Main St. in Damariscotta from 9 a.m. to noon.
“Job Search and the Internet” will be the workshop offered Tuesday, May 9. After crafting an effective resume, the next step is to job search. Today that is largely done online, with dozens of job-search sites at one’s fingertips. This workshop will offer a day of exploring and learn about the different sites and how to navigate them. This is a hands-on workshop. Students should bring their resumes on a flash drive and be prepared to start the journey to success.
“Effective Interviewing Skills” will be held on Tuesday, May 16. One will be helped to gain the confidence to ace an interview and get a job. The key is to go in prepared. In this interviewing workshop, interview preparation techniques will be discussed. Students will practice commonly asked questions and learn to avoid some common interviewing mistakes.
