Old photos of South Bristol will be featured at the South Bristol Historical Society meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Historical society historian David Andrews will present photographic views of the town through many decades, including the time when South Bristol was still part of the town of Bristol. Andrews has a large collection of views of the town and is constantly adding to his holdings. It is almost certain that newcomers and longtime residents alike will find something they haven’t seen previously on this photo tour through time and the town.
The evening will begin with light refreshments at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. in the parish hall of the Union Church of South Bristol, at the junction of Route 129 and Middle Road in South Bristol. Members and guests are welcome, and attendees are invited to bring a favorite old photo from South Bristol’s past to share.
The local boat builders who were originally scheduled to speak on this date, will be bringing their expertise to an South Bristol Historical Society program next summer.
