Aaron S. Chancellor, 52, of Wiscasset, died unexpectedly on July 3.
He was born in Damariscotta on Aug. 26, 1962, a son of Norman and Shirley (Cain) Chancellor.
He grew up in Wiscasset, attending local schools. Aaron spent most of his life working on the ocean as an offshore scalloper, clam digger and worm digger. When he wasn’t working on the ocean, he was playing on it, tuna fishing, striper fishing or just enjoying a boat ride.
Aaron had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, ice fishing, trapping fur-bearing animals, snowmobiling, four wheeling, boating, gardening and helping his family and friends.
Aaron was predeceased by both of his parents; brother, Gordy; and good friend, Cleveland Ashton.
He is survived by his longtime soul mate, Crystal Wellman; daughters, Iyanla, MacKenzie, and MacKendra Chancellor, all of Wiscasset; brother, Bruce Chancellor and wife Rosie of Laveen, Ariz.; sisters, Robin Boucher of Avon Park, Fla., Cheryl Maloney and husband Pat of Union Grove, Ala., and Wendy Smith and husband Steve of Beaufort, N.C.; along with nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of Aaron’s life will be held at 5 p.m., Sat., July 25 at 135 Pooler Pit Rd., Wiscasset, at his lifetime home.
