Alice H. Crow, of Newtown, Penn. and formerly of Jefferson, died on Dec. 5 at her home. Mrs. Crow was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., but grew up in Mamaroneck, N.Y. She lived in Westfield, N.J. for 38 years before moving to Jefferson with the retirement of her husband of 57 years, Charles S. Crow Jr. She and her husband relocated to Pennswood Village in Newtown, Penn. in May 2004.
Mrs. Crow graduated from Marion College, Marion, Va., and received her nurse’s training at St. Luke’s Hospital, School of Nursing in New York City. During WWII, she enlisted as a Navy nurse and was assigned to the Navy hospital in Chelsea, Mass. While in the service, Mrs. Crow studied at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Penn. After her military service, she worked as an RN at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Mrs. Crow was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Westfield, N.J., a church for which her father, Conrad C. Henne, was the original architect. In Maine she was active at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and served on the board of directors of the Sheepscot Valley Health Center.
Mrs. Crow was also a member of the Maine State Museum, and the Round Top Society for the Arts. Music was a lifetime passion. She was a soprano, and received formal training in voice. She was a longtime member of The Musical Club of Westfield, serving formerly as an officer of that organization, as well as being a member of their scholarship committee before her relocation to Maine.
Mrs. Crow was predeceased by her husband in 2006, and by a son, Donald A. Crow in 1983.
Surviving are son Charles S. Crow 3rd of Princeton, Penn.; daughters, Patricia C. Koch of Rochester, N.Y. and Heidi C. Crow of Buffalo, N.Y.; brothers, Conrad C. Henne of Port Chester, N.Y. and Rev. Arthur J. Henne of Raphine, Va.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services held Dec. 9 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Westfield, N.J. Interment took place at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
