Anne Carol Orne passed away peacefully Jan. 14 surrounded by her loving family after fighting cancer since February 2016.
She was born Nov. 11, 1943 at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor, the youngest of three girls born to Lyman and Dorothy Pinkham.
She loved country music and raising her two children. Anne enjoyed gardening especially her rose bushes and magnolia tree. She was an avid animal lover – she loved her three cats – Dusty, Callie and Cosby and enjoyed watching wildlife. Having resided her entire life in the Boothbay region, she never took for granted the beauty of the area, especially Ocean Point. One of her favorite things to do was watch the New England Patriots – she was a true fan.
Anne was employed for many years at local grocery stores – first at Carbone’s and then at Hannaford. She always greeted everyone with a smile and loved joking with patrons. Her strength and amazing spirit will be sadly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
Anne is predeceased by her father, Mr. Lyman Pinkham; mother, Dorothy Dauphin Pinkham and Brody; and her grand-Bernese Mountain dog.
She is survived by son, Kenneth “Skip” Orne; daughter, Sherri Brooks; son-in-law, Charles Brooks; grandson, Scott Bishop Alley; sisters, Sharon Oakland of Boothbay, and Ellen Williams of Boothbay Harbor; five nieces and nephews; seven grand-nieces and nephews; as well as many cousins; and very special friend of many years, Kathy Stevens.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Jan. 21 at Hall Funeral Homes of Boothbay.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 7, Edgecomb, ME 04556; or Gosnell Memorial Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074.
