Anthony Charles “Andy” Pinkham, 45, of Boothbay, died Sept. 15 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland after a brief illness.
Andy was born in Boothbay Harbor on Nov. 1, 1964, the son of Larry Edward and Susan Grace Pinkham, and attended Boothbay Region schools.
He was a clam digger in the area and was known to be one of the fastest to fill a hod.
Andy was said to give the shirt off his back to anybody in need, if he ever had one on. He loved cheering for the gold and green, Boston Celtics, and growing up as a kid emulating his favorite player, Larry Bird. As an avid fan of summer, he spent his days playing basketball pickup games with friends, throwing together barbecues, camp fires with his kids, and smelting. Gardening came naturally to Andy, growing stunning vegetable and flower beds wherever he laid his head. He loved to decorate for Christmas, and celebrate the holiday with his family. His children undoubtedly, were his pride and joy in his life.
He is predeceased by his mother, Susan Grace Pinkham; and daughter, Nicole Pinkham.
Survivors include his father, Larry Pinkham of Boothbay; brother, Russell Pinkham of Boothbay; children, Joshua Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor, Anna, Mitch and Aleesha Pinkham, all of Boothbay; and Drew Pinkham of Wiscasset.
Should friends desire, donations in his memory should be made to Joshua Pinkham and Family, P.O. Box 18, Boothbay, ME 04537.
Notification of the memorial service will be announced in the near future.
