
Archie Wilmont Brewer, 72, of Wiscasset, passed away on Aug. 21 at his residence after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
Archie was born on July 31, 1945. He was the son of Vernon Brewer and Doris Higgins of Boothbay Harbor.
Archie attended Boothbay Region High School, but graduated from Waldoboro High School, after marrying Constance Elaine Shuman of Waldoboro. They married on July 10, 1965, and just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.
Archie served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a line cook. After working at Maine Yankee for a few years, he started working at Bath Iron Works for a tenure of 35 years as a shipfitter.
Archie enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He adored his grandchildren, especially watching them play sports. He loved watching Red Sox games and NASCAR racing.
Archie is survived by his wife, Constance Elaine Shuman Brewer; children and their families: daughter, Candace (Brewer) Chapman and husband Scott and grandsons: Michael, Joseph, and Matthew, and granddaughter, Gabrielle; daughter, Angela (Brewer) Eastman and wife, Julie McCullough and granddaughters, Marguerite and Emily; son, Miles William Brewer and companion Destiny Graf and grandsons: Archie, Miles Jr., and Damian and granddaughters: Georgia May and Leanna.
He was laid to rest on Aug. 25 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset beside his beloved son, Archie Wilmont Brewer Jr.
