Arlene M. Vannah, 90, of Camden, died June 12 at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Inn in Camden. She was born Dec. 21, 1917 in Warren, the daughter of the late Cleveland and Goldie Overlock. She grew up and lived in Warren most of her life. She graduated from Warren High School in the class of 1936.
She worked at the Knox Woolen Mill in Warren for 15 years. She later worked for GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro and retired after 25 years of service. She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, the ocean, collecting rocks and especially her flower gardens. She could be seen most any time painting ceramics, creating jewelry, pictures from seeds, designing pot holders and pillows among many other crafts. She had a very big imagination when it came to her crafts. In her later years she primarily painted pictures that she gave to anyone who wanted them. She had a big heart and was a very giving person. She was loved by everyone she met. She was a strong believer in God and the everafter.
Arlene was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Clyde Vannah and by a brother, Donald Overlock.
She is survived by two daughters, Gerri Overlock of Rockland, and Ingrid Garand and husband Julien of West Gardiner; stepdaughter, Cindy Vannah of Waldoboro; stepson, Larry Vannah of Hawaii; grandchildren, Valerie Champagne and husband Dan of Salem, N.H., and Angela Peaslee and husband Jeff of Somersworth, N.H.; and four great-grandchildren, Hillary and Nathaniel Peaslee of Somersworth, N.H., and Olivia and Jacob Champagne of Salem, N.H.
Visiting hours June 15 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Funeral June 16 at the Hall Funeral Home. Pastor Tom Rawley officiated. Burial followed in the Roadside Cemetery in Waldoboro.
