Arnold B. Orff, 89, of Washington, died Aug. 14 at his daughter’s home in Waldoboro. He was born March 17, 1922 in Waldoboro to Thomas and Bertha Pitcher Orff. Arnold grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools. He was a construction worker for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #4 for many years.
After he retired he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening and riding his four wheelers on his farm. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge Masonic Lodge in Washington where he was a 50-year member. He was a member of the grange and the Jefferson Sno-Packers snowmobile club.
Arnold was predeceased by his siblings, Merrill Orff, Hollis Orff, Leslie Orff, Vesta Campbell and Marion Hall.
He is survived by a son, Burton G. Orff and wife Bonnie of Washington; daughter, Susan Andrews of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Becky Orff of Waldoboro, Thomas Orff of Washington, Bethany Foster and husband Austin of Washington and Daniel Andrews and wife Elizabeth of Albion; and long time friend, Joyce Andrews of Camden.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Fri., Aug. 19 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Funeral 1 p.m., Sat., Aug. 20 at the Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Levensaler Cemetery in Washington.
