
Arthur B. “Barry” Ethier, 74, of Wiscasset, died on Sept. 29 at his residence.
He was born in Portland on Aug. 24, 1943, a son of Arthur George Ethier and Elizabeth (Stimpson Goodrich). He attended Portland schools and entered the U.S. Army. On Jan. 16, 1979 he was employed at Bath Iron Works and was currently in the maintenance electrical department. On July 1, 1989 he married Deborah J. Reed and they resided in Wiscasset.
Arthur attended the Wiscasset Church of the Nazarene.
He loved working outside and spending time with family and his many friends from Bath Iron Works and the community.
He was predeceased by father, Arthur George Ethier; mother, Elizabeth Stimpson Goodrich; and stepfather, Charles Goodrich.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah J. Ethier of Wiscasset; daughters, Tammy Saxton and boyfriend Mike Schooley of Dresden, Aimee Ethier-Bixby of Nobleboro, and Alice Rendmeister and husband Sheldon of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; son, Jody Reed and wife Jodi-Rae of Wiscasset; sisters, Carol Busler and husband Joel of Woolwich, Deborah Brawn and husband Chuck of Wiscasset, and Bonnie McCloud and husband Jeff of Sheepscot; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special love of his life, his Pomeranian, Foxy Lady.
A celebration of Arthur’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Sat., Oct. 7 at the Church of the Nazarene, Gardiner Rd., Wiscasset with military honors. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Wiscasset High School.
