Barbara Ann Philbrook, 53, died Sept. 15 in Sydney.
She was born May 19, 1953 in Newport, R.I., a daughter of Robert Sullivan and Mary Oncher Sullivan. She grew up in Union and attended Monmouth Academy. She attended University of Maine at Augusta.
She was a guard at the Kennebec County Jail in Augusta. She worked for the Bureau of Taxation for ten years and lastly, worked as an interpreter at Vocational Tech School in Calais.
She loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles. She enjoyed arts and crafts, collecting dolls and dollhouses, and horses.
She is survived by a son, Trevor Patten of Austin, Tex.; daughter, Shawnee Patten of Appleton; three sisters, Lois Fererria and husband Butch of Tiverton, R.I., Patricia Goff and husband Teddy of Monmouth, and Carol Scott and husband Randy of Union; two brothers, Eugene Wallace and wife Helen of Warren, R.I., and James Wallace of Union; grandchildren, Patrick Edward Brown, Jr. of Somerville and Michaela Nathalie Brown of Clinton; companion, Jeff Griffin of Appleton; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service 2 p.m., Thurs., Sept. 21 at Lakeview Cemetery in Union with Rev. Michelle Grube officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Knox County Animal Shelter.
