Bertha E. Reed, 89, of Wiscasset, died Oct. 13 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta.
She was born in Damariscotta on Sept. 13, 1926, a daughter of Frank and Bernice (Barnes) Reed.
She attended Wiscasset schools and Wiscasset Academy. She was employed in the Wiscasset area all of her life taking care of children and the elderly in their homes.
She enjoyed gardening, animals, Halloween and especially spending time with her family.
Bertha was predeceased by brother, Earl D. Reed; and sisters, Ruth Reed and Virginia Reed.
She is survived by brothers, F. Eugene Reed and wife Yvonne of Dresden, Daniel E. Reed and wife Mary of Wiscasset, and Charles Reed of Wiscasset; many nieces and nephews; and great- nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sun., Oct. 18 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Mon., Oct. 19 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. Burial will follow at Old Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset.
