Betty Mae Williams Hudson, 83, gently passed away on Sept. 7 with family by her side at Legacy Place Parma.
She was the beloved companion of Robert G. Sluka for over 30 years, and his daughters, Barb Gaglione and Gayle Agg.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Mary Williams (nee Weinhold).
She is survived by her daughters, Candice Hudson Scharver and husband Jeffrey of Rougemont, N.C., and Patricia Ellen Lepak and husband Joseph of Jefferson; grandchildren, Christopher Scharver and wife Kelly, Gwendolyn Lepak Gallace and husband Peter, Randi Scharver Rollinson and husband Phil, and Adam Lepak; great-grandchildren, Isabella Anna and Julia Mae Gallace; brother, Raymond G. Williams and wife Barbara of Glenview, Ill.; niece, Jamey Heniken (Bruce) and children, John, Brett, and Emily; and nephew Michael Williams (Liz) and children, Kenny, Katie, and Kimberly.
She is also survived by the father of her daughters, Tex Hudson (Sue), of Sebring, Ohio. She also had a great many friends who will miss her.
Betty was the executive secretary to the president of Carr Liggett in Cleveland, Ohio. She won the 1984 Helmsman Award honoring excellence and was held in the highest esteem by her colleagues. She retired in 1989 after 22 years of employment.
Future memorial celebration of Betty’s life is to be held at her previous home, Heritage House, Rocky River, Ohio, pending completion of restoration, following the devastating June 2006 fire.
