Beverly Tait, 86, died May 15 at Fieldcrest Manor, Waldoboro. Beverly was born Feb. 4, 1920 in Waldoboro to John and Martha Benner Richards. She grew up and attended local schools in Waldoboro, graduating from Waldoboro High School in the class of 1937.
She worked at Paragon Button Factory in Waldoboro, Bath Iron Works during WWII, and many other places to help support her family. She worked for GTE Sylvania for over 30 years. She was a fantastic cook. Her family was especially grateful for the wonderful care she received from the staff at Fieldcrest Manor over the past few years.
She was the widow of Edward Ball and Virgil Tait. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mrs. Clifton (Janet) Crummett; and a brother, J. Douglas Richards.
She is survived by a stepson, Joseph Ball and wife Evelyn of Round Pond; two grandsons, Damon Crummett of Waldoboro and Dalton Crummett and wife Lori of Washington; two great grandsons, Braden Crummett of Waldoboro and Cody Crummett of Washington; sisters, Frances Armitstead of Atkinson, N.H., and Jacquelyn Haynes and husband Robert of Melvin Villages, N.H.; niece, Marta Goodwin of Vancouver, B.C.; nephews, R. Douglas Haynes of Reading, Mass. and Richard Haynes and wife Donna of Bellingham, Mass.
There will not be a funeral per Beverly’s request.
