Carl Barnes, 56, of Wiscasset, died peacefully with his family by his side at Maine Medical Center on March 15.
Carl was born in Salzburg, Austria on May 13, 1953, son of Carl Sr. and Hildegard Barnes.
Carl graduated from Wiscasset High School in 1971. For many years Carl was self employed as a stone mason in Maine and installed hard wood floors in Michigan.
In his younger years Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his time working in the woods and riding his motorcycle. Carl’s hobbies included song writing, collecting Matchbox cars and model making. He also was a big fan of Gibson guitars and shared his love of music with his son Nathan. Carl lived his life the way he wanted and never passed up the opportunity to enjoy himself and have a good time.
Carl is survived by his son, Nathan and fiancée Molly; grandson, Kaleb; brother, Frank Barnes and wife Elaine; sister, Heidi Grotton and husband Doug; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A party in honor of Carl’s life 3 p.m., Sun., March 28 at Hunter’s Breakfast on Rt. 27 in Wiscasset.
