Carol Greenleaf Rose, 74, of Newcastle, died Aug. 9 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 3, 1934 in Boothbay, a daughter of the late Emery N. and Elaine E. (Jaeger) Greenleaf.
Mrs. Rose was a life member of Crescent Chapter #54 Order of the Eastern Star, former president and trustee of WCC, former town clerk and selectman with the Town of Newcastle and she worked previously for Nash Telelphone Co., The First National Bank, Gallagher & Stein and at Riverside Boat Co. She was also a member of the Newcastle Planning Board and attended the Damariscotta Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rose is preceded in death by her first husband John M. Pottle, Jr. and sister, Gladys Pinkham.
Mrs. Rose is survived by daughter, Lynn Maloney and husband Donald of Newcastle; two granddaughters, Kendra Maloney and Allison Maloney, both of Newcastle; brother, Stuart Greenleaf of Boothbay; two sisters, Sara Thompson of California and Priscilla Harrison of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh-Ann Maloney and Evan Brewer; special nephew Kim Pinkham and his wife Sherry of Boothbay; four nieces, Kathleen Hallinan of Boothbay Harbor, Kellie Reardon of Cambridge, Patty Delmaxtro of Wiscasset, and Betty Wade of Bath; seven additional nephews, Randy Pinkham of Barter’s Island, Kris Pinkham of Wiscasset, Scott Greenleaf of Barter’s Island, Doug and Mike Thompson of California, Alan Harrison of Arizona, James Harrison of California, and Wayne Breeding of Warren; and her exchange student daughter, Mirja Ikaheimo of Finland.
Relatives and friends are invited to join Mrs. Rose’s family for a celebration of her life 2 p.m., Sat., Aug. 15, at her home, 335 Sheepscot Road, Newcastle, Pastor Rick Newell officiating.
