Catherine Anita Griffin, 63, of Waldoboro, passed away April 2 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta after a brief illness. Catherine was born Sept. 28, 1942 in Augusta, the daughter of Albert and Laura DeRoche Beote, and attended schools in Bristol. She was employed as a C.N.A. at Will-Innes Boarding Home in Waldoboro then in Union at what is now known as Seven Tree Manor for 15 years. She was married to Russell Griffin for 35 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, having family cookouts, and getting together to go shopping and yard saling. Catherine is predeceased by her father Albert Beote; a sister Betty Merrill; and a grandson Michael Winchenbach. Survivors include her husband Russell; children, Donny, Brenda, and Ronnie Cronk, all of Waldoboro, Deborah Grijalva of Woolwich, Russell and Dale Griffin of Waldoboro, and Melissa Griffin Rogers of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Jessica Winchenbach of Bristol, Eric, Adam and Andrew Cronk of Waldoboro, Kyle Rogers of Toledo, Ore., McKenzie and Kolton Nielson of Waldoboro, Marco Grijalva of Woolwich, Alicia Grijalva of Kissimmee, Fla., Alex and Amanda Griffin of Round Pond, Ashton Cronk of Florida, Sierra and Trever Nielsen of Waldoboro, Nathan Cronk of Yarmouth, and Dale Griffin Jr. of Waldoboro; great-granddaughter, Kaia O’Brien of Bristol; sisters, Sandra Griffin of Bristol, Mary Bean of Farmingdale, and Gloria Hines of Killeen Texas; and brothers, Marshall Beote of Sacramento, Cal., and John Beote of Lakeland, Fla. Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Tues., April 4 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Funeral service 10 a.m., Wed., April 5 at the Broad Bay Congregational Church, Main St., Waldoboro. Interment will be in the German Cemetery, later in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Waldoboro.
