Charlotte Elisabeth Deines, 83, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on May 28 at the Knox Long Term Care Center in Rockland. She was born on March 22, 1934 in Konigsberg, Germany, daughter of Friedrich and Minna (Feyer) Seidler.
Charlotte grew up in Germany and came to the U.S. in 1950. She first worked for Bulova Watch Company, and then as a jewelry maker for Chain Craft in Providence, R.I. She and her husband retired to Maine in 1983.
She loved gardening, sailing, knitting, crocheting, hand quilting, sewing clothes, making draperies, cooking and baking. Charlotte was very domesticated. She loved spending time with her grandchildren most of all.
She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Deiter Seidler; and sister, Giesela Boodaghian.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Roy Deines; daughters, Linda Klemer of Warren, Sandra Deines of Farmington, N.H., and Cheryl Ferreira and husband Mark of Bristol, R.I.; and grandchildren, Joshua Klemer, Austin Klemer, Derek Deines and wife Bianca, Kaleb Travers, Peter Ferreira and wife Megan, Nicholas Ferreira, and Lauren Ferreira.
Visiting hours will be held from 2-3 p.m., Sat., June 3 followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Interment will be at the German Cemetery in Waldoboro.
