Daniel Caldwell Munroe, 74, of Salisbury, Mass., died Aug. 21 at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Mass. He was the beloved husband of 50 years of Joyce A. (Sykes) Munroe.
Born in Merrimac, Mass., Jan. 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Daniel F. and Evelyn (Pecker) Munroe. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps from Feb. 20, 1951 until his honorable discharge on July 20, 1956.
Mr. Munroe worked as a machinist at Cado Manufacturing in Amesbury, Mass., retiring after more than 20 years of service.
Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and camping. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, taking great pride in their accomplishments.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Rebecca Stanton and husband Jack, Vicki Wright, and Bonnie Heath and husband Gregory all of Hampton, N.H.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson, Tyler Willis; three brothers, Mark of Exeter, N.H., Edward of Mims, Fla., and James of North Conway, N.H.; one sister, Patricia Grant of Wiscasset, as well as several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Visiting hours 5-8 p.m., Sun., Aug. 24 at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main St., Merrimac, Mass. Funeral services 11 a.m., Mon., Aug. 25 at the First Baptist Church, Hampton Falls, N.H. followed by interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Haverhill, Mass.
