David G. Archer, 48, of Jefferson, passed away on the morning of May 18 at Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta.
The son of Paul and Lucilla (Shoppe) Archer, he was born in Damariscotta Aug. 8, 1957. David attended early school in Jefferson, graduating from Lincoln Academy, Newcastle, in the Class of 1976. While at Lincoln, he excelled in baseball, earning a pitching MVP for the high school team.
For most of his adult life he worked locally as a carpenter, specializing in finish work and cabinet making. At the time of his death, he was working as a cabinetmaker with Randy Wade for Ridgetop Cabinetry. David had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, having recently returned from a successful salmon fishing trip at East Grand. An expert in the art of fly tying, several of his flies were framed.
David was predeceased by his father, Paul. He leaves his mother, Lucilla Archer; brothers, Deane Archer, and Duane K. Archer and wife Elizabeth, all of Jefferson; niece Mary Archer-Brey, husband William and their two children; many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins, with special remembrance to friends Randy Wade, Fred Nelson and his Brittany Spaniel, Regie.
Graveside service to honor David 1 p.m., Mon., May 22 at Weeks Cemetery, Jefferson with Rev. Bob Jewett of St. Giles Church officiating. He will be laid to rest with his dad, following.
