David Leuign Croxford, 61, of Damariscotta and Portland, passed away March 25 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Damariscotta on Aug. 19, 1945, the son of Raymond and Edith Gifford Croxford, he attended Bristol Schools and Lincoln Academy.
After high school he served for four years in the U.S. Navy.
In 1972 he married Kim Hunter and they had two children, son, Sean and daughter, Heather. David spent most of his working years in construction working for Richard R. Storer & Sons, Inc.
He later moved to Portland where he spent his remaining years.
Survivors include his mother, Edith G. Bond of Jefferson; father, Raymond Croxford of Wiscasset; son, Sean Hunter of Bristol; daughter, Heather Hunter of Trenton; grandson, Hunter Dougherty of Trenton; sister, Linda Averill and husband Clinton of Newcastle; one nephew and two nieces.
A private graveside service will be held at the Pine Knoll Cemetery in the spring.
