Deven L. Kear was born July 24, 1965, and went to heaven May 26. He was born to Lonny Kear Sr. and Linda (Howes) Kear in Goodland, Kan.
When Deven was a pre-teen, his family moved to Colorado, where he met the mother of his children, Caryn Frosio. In 1992, they were married in Greeley, Col. and in January of 1994, they began their journey into parenthood with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Siarra. They were blessed with their handsome son, Ethan, in March of 1996, completing their family. Soon after the birth of their son, they relocated to Maine to raise their family.
Deven was a very free spirited person who embraced challenges and lived life to its fullest. He preferred to be unique rather than to be like everyone else. He not only treated others with respect, but was respected by others for his character of having high morals, standards, and values. They knew they could depend on him when in need, and when he decided to do something, he gave 110 percent effort into getting it accomplished.
He was a very proud and loving dad who felt his children were his greatest treasures. To say that he was a wonderful father, brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and person, is a great understatement. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met, and had friends everywhere he went. He was accepting of people without judging them, and he believed everyone was entitled to be themselves.
Deven enjoyed spending time with family, playing guitar, and singing. He was very talented at working on, and creating, unique cars. Deven was often seen driving his one-of-a-kind dune buggy, no matter the weather. He lived and worked off the coast of Maine, loved traveling, meeting new people, and learning new things. Recently divorced, he had begun splitting his time between Maine, Kansas and Colorado. He spent time with family in each state and made new friends everywhere he went.
Deven was preceded in death by father, Lonny Kear Sr.; step-father, Russ Withrow; sister, Sharee Vance; cousin, David Howes Jr.; cousin and best friend, Larry Howard; uncle, Terry Kear; and grandparents, Maurice and Jessie Kear, Evelyn Howes, Eslie and Hubert Withrow.
He is survived by children, Siarra and Ethan Kear; ex-wife and mother of his children, Caryn Frosio; mother, Linda Withrow; step-mother, Nancy Kear; grandfather, Alfred Howes; siblings, Tony and Anita Kear, Lonny and Jodie Kear, Andy Kear, Lisa and Monte Allaman, and Jaime and Ron King; nieces and nephews, Starla and Curt Kennedy, Tracy and Nate Bernal, Promise King, Samantha King, Lanie Kear, Donovan Allaman, Levi Allaman, Jimmy Allaman, Jacob Allaman, Ryan Vance, Vincent Kear, and Issac Kear; two great-nephews; great-niece; cousins; aunts and uncles; as well as his many, many friends that he considered family.
A celebration of his life will be held at 5 p.m., Wed., June 4 on the dock of Maine Fresh Lobster on the Medomak Road in Bremen. A memorial fund for Deven has been established to help his children with final expenses. Contributions can be made at www.gofundme.com/9lsghc
