Donald A. Moody, 80, of Wells, passed away March 30 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
Donald was born June 29, 1930 in Waldoboro, a son of Ainsley H. and Thelma (Benner) Moody.
Mr. Moody was a member of the Bauneg Beg Grange, the Pomona Grange and the Maine State Grange. Donald was a truck driver. He hauled lumber products and wood trusses throughout Maine and New England and received many commendations for safe driving. Donald retired from NRG Barriers in 1998.
He was a hard worker, enjoyed animals and spending time with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law and a grandson, Aaron.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Milicent E. (Averill) Moody of Wells; son, Donald T. Moody and wife Doreen of Nobleboro; twin daughters, Deborah Cunningham and husband Owen of Nobleboro and Donna McNally and husband Robert of Waldoboro; sisters, Marian Swift of Jefferson and Margaret Wellman of North Nobleboro; step-son, Neil Goodwin and wife Beth of Wells; step-daughters, Susan Peaslee and husband Neil of Somerville and Dawn McWilliams and husband Wallace of Hiram; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours. Private services will be held later in the spring. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wells Branch.
