Donna Jean Winchenbach Berkeley, 72, passed away March 30 of brain cancer at Sussman House Hospice in Rockport.
She was born in Waldoboro July 11, 1942, a daughter of Carl and Anna Winchenbach. She attended Waldoboro schools and graduated in Boston, then went on to become a nurse.
On Jan. 9, 1966 she married Gordon Dale Berkeley and had two children.
Donna lived and did nursing in numerous places, Georgia, Illinois, New York, New Hampshire, and Maine, but her favorite was Camden where her Seventh Day Adventist Church and many friends are located, always the devoted Christian.
She enjoyed reading, lawn sales, organizing her photographs, family and church gatherings, “Buffy” her cat, listening to her many albums, especially George Jones and Elvis, and Moody’s Diner.
She came from a big family of 13 brothers and sisters from two marriages.
She was predeceased by sister, Lorraine Doris Winchenbach Fowler on July 16, 1981; nephew, Ken Fowler Jr.; mother; father; step-mother, Gloria; and Freddy Lee.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Allen (Carla) Carlson of Mariatte, N.M.; son, Gordon Scot Berkeley of Portland; granddaughters, Nicole and Kelsey Carlson; grandsons, Justen and Jason Rich; sister, Mrs. Earle (Claire) Clifford of Boothbay; many nieces and nephews; brother, Sammy Winchenbach of Jefferson, David Beaucage of Damariscotta, Richard Lee of Warren, Donald, Alfred, Peter Lee of Waldoboro, Paul Lee of St. Paul, Minn.; and Penny Hinkeley of Whitefield and Sally Pulsifer of Limington.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m., Sat., April 11 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 132 Camden Rd., Rockport with Elder Dan Fickett officiating. Burial will be at Sweetland Cemetery, Waldoboro.
