Edward J. Bancroft, 67, of Wiscasset, died May 12 at a Brunswick hospital.
He was born in Madison on Aug. 26, 1938, a son of Everett A. and Almira F. (Mitchell) Bancroft.
He married Sylvia and together they moved to Wiscasset in 1974. He was employed at Bath Iron Works as a material clerk.
Ed especially enjoyed camping with his wife and children.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Bancroft; brothers, James Bancroft and Arthur Bancroft; and father, Everett Bancroft.
He is survived by one son, Jeff Bancroft and wife Kellie of Methuen, Mass.; daughter, Deborah Sherbourne of Medford, Mass., mother, Almira Limirande and husband Robert of Windham; brothers, William Bancroft of California, Robert Bancroft and wife Donna of Portland, and Donald F. Bancroft and wife Janice of Raymond; sisters, Florence Pooler of Portland, Susan Hendel and husband Gene of Ohio, Evelyn Walsh of Windham, Jeannette Bancroft of Windham, Linda Doughty of Limington, Mary Davis and husband Sonny of Bridgton, and Elizabeth Graffam and husband Mark of North Bridgton; two grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours 3:30-7 p.m., Tues., May 15 at Mayo, Curtis & Hill Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Wed., May 16 at the Woolwich Wiscasset Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset.
