Edward W. Green, 77, of New Hope, Penn., died Sept. 21 at Kindred Hospital in Philadelphia, Penn. Edward was the husband of Frances Butler Green.
Born in Upper Darby, Penn., he was the son of the late Harry Francis and Anna Rogers Green.
Ed grew up in Upper Darby before moving to Doylestown, Penn. in 1970. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Green received an associatefs degree in accounting from Temple University, class of 1961. Most of his career Ed worked in the brokerage business, most recently for W.H. Newbolds in Philadelphia. In his later years he was employed by Thompson Toyota as a parts delivery person before retiring in 2007.
Ed was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Eagles and Phillies. Edfs other interests included reading the newspaper, crossword puzzles, WWII history, trips to Maine, seashore vacations and most of all spending time with his family. He was known for his great sense of humor, quick wit and classic one-liners.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Diane Lazzari and husband Mark of Maine, Janice Clymer and husband Jim of Sellersville, Penn. and Lisa Green of Maryland; grandchildren, Emma and Camille Lazzari, Frank Clymer, Todd Bennett and wife Shannon, and Christine and Katherine Clymer; and brother, Harry Green Jr. and wife Helen of Collegeville, Penn.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 11 a.m., Sat., Sept. 25 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Rd., Doylestown, Penn. where friends may call from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed’s name may be made to Doylestown Presbyterian Church – Building Fund, 127 East Court St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
