Elizabeth (Betty) Garnet Chubbuck, 69, of Wiscasset, passed away Aug. 25 at her residence.
She was born in Bath on May 22, 1942, a daughter of Edgar Thomas and Eva Minnie (Rines) Rankin Sr. She married Brian W. Chubbuck on July 2, 1960 and they recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
Betty was a loving, kind person to all who loved and knew her. She was an avid quilter and had made over 200 quilts.
She was predeceased by great-niece, Emily Madden and great-nephew, Jason Melanson, both in 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Brian W. Chubbuck of Wiscasset; daughters, Teresa Wade and husband Tim of Woolwich and Debbi Furrow and husband Rick of Lisbon; son, Brian Chubbuck and wife Dottie of Lisbon Falls; brothers, Thomas Rankin and wife Suzanne of Wiscasset and Edgar Rankin Jr. and wife Henrietta of Edgecomb; sister, Alice Chubbuck-Merry of Wiscasset; grandchildren, Amanda Wade, Brent Wade and fiancée Samantha Drew, Nina Gargan and husband Ed, Eric Furrow and fiancée Cayla Marshall and Shayne Chubbuck; great-grandchildren, Aubreanna, Lexi, Carter, Rayne and Katherine; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
Celebration of life 1 p.m., Fri., Sept. 2 at St. Philips Episcopal Church, Hodge St., Wiscasset.
