Elizabeth S. “Bette” Farrin, 81, of Ocala, Fla., passed away July 23. She was born in Portland and grew up in Damariscotta, relocating to So. Bristol after marriage.
She retired from the U.S. Postal Service as postmaster of the South Bristol post office after serving over 30 years, then moved to the Ocala, Fla. area. Mrs. Farrin was a member of the Belleview Moose Lodge, N.A.R.F.E., USA Dance and Prestige 55 with Munroe Regional Medical Center. For hobbies she enjoyed cooking and needlework at which she excelled. Her other activities included reading, tennis, walking and ballroom dancing.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ramon K. “Ray” Farrin; son, Kelly Farrin Jr. and wife Janice of Gray; daughter, Linda Cartwright and husband Richard of Ellington, Conn.; sister, Lillyanne Creamer of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Lori Cloutier and husband Scott, and Ramon “Skip” Farrin III and wife Janice; and four great-grandchildren.
