Ellen Elaine Curtis, 63, of Wilmington, N.C., passed away Sept. 10 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington after an extended illness. Ellen was born Nov. 21, 1946 in Waldoboro, to Edwin and Edna Black.
She was a member of Wrightsboro United Methodist Church. She lived in Wilmington for 15 years, after moving from the New England area. She enjoyed karaoke with her companion Richard Britt.
Ellen was predeceased by her father, Edwin Black; brother, Earl Black; and husband, Elton “Al” Curtis.
She is survived by mother, Edna Black of Wilmington, N.C.; daughters, Kim Overlock of Friendship, Tobi Flowers of Wilmington, N.C. and Melissa Curtis of Wilmington, N.C.; brother, Ernest Black and wife Mary of Marlboro, Mass.; sisters, Eileen Bianchi and husband Carlo of Waldoboro and Evelyn Waugh and husband Mike of Wilmington, N.C.; grandchildren, Eric, Zachary, Danielle, Craig, Lauren, Amanda, and Lance; nieces, Elizabeth and Mary; companion, Richard Britt of Wilmington, N.C.; and several aunts and uncles.
Memorial service 11 a.m., Sat., Sept. 25 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Burial will follow in the Shuman Cemetery in Waldoboro.
