Ernest Francis Robinson Jr. died from Agent Orange complications at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus with his loving wife by his side on June 6. He was born Sept. 30, 1943 in Thomaston to Ernest F. Robinson, Sr. and Bertha (Winslow) Robinson.
Ernest graduated from Thomaston High School. Following high school he was a clam digger and then joined the Army in 1968 and served a tour in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry and was awarded many medals, including the Bronze Star. After his tour of duty he returned home and was a clam digger, a lobsterman and a foreman at Stinson Canning Company.
Ernest loved playing poker, horse races and deer and bear hunting. He was a member of the American Legion Post #42 in Damariscotta, VFW #3095 in Friendship, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Knights of Pythias in Thomaston.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws; and Vietnam brother, Robert Grafton.
He is survived by wife Sharon Robinson of Waldoboro; son, Ernest Charles “Chip” Robinson of Thomaston; daughters, Kandice Miller (Jeremy) of Canterbury, N.H., and Vicktoria Robinson (fiancé Chris Cushman) of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Karly, Kiara, Brayden Ernest, twins Colton and Cade, Kaylee, Bryce, Tyler, Brooke, and Lily; 10 siblings; and Legion brothers, Ray B., Roy P., Mike Z., Mike J., Buddy, Stanley, Skye, Vaughn, Chuck and Jerry
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thurs., June 9 at Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Fri., June 10 at Hall’s of Waldoboro.
