Eugene Lowell Hart, 76, of Mendon, Mass., formerly of Ashland, Mass., passed away on Nov. 7 at the Blackstone Nursing Home.
Born in Framingham, Mass., he was the son of the late Robert and Florence (Crocker) Hart and husband to Betty (Howard) Hart. They were married 55 years.
A resident of Ashland for over 30 years, Mr. Hart worked for the Commonwealth Gas Co. in Southboro, Mass. for 30 years, retiring to Pemaquid in 1986.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2331 in Ashland, Mass., past president of the Ashland Lions, and member of the Bristol Lions where he was the tail twister for 15 years. He was an avid hunter, and golfer. Mr. Hart served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Larry Hart of Danville, N.H., Linda Morris and husband Paul of Mendon, Mass., Lon Hart and wife Maureen of Hopkinton, Mass., and Lee Hart of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Kerri and Christopher Morris, and Jacob Hart; brothers, Robert Hart of Holliston, Mass., Edward Hart of Ashland, Mass., and Donald Hart of Southboro, Mass.; sister, Marilyn Batteese-Tibbetts of Boothbay Harbor; and many nieces and nephews.
