Frank M. Auvil, 60, formerly of Wiscasset, died July 3 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born in Uniontown, Penn. on July 19, 1955, a son of Ray W. and Rose (Ruse) Auvil.
He attended schools in Pennsylvania and entered the U.S. Navy during Vietnam era. He moved to Maine and in 1980 he was employed at Bath Iron Works until 1995. He owned and operated Frank’s Mechanical Services in Topsham.
He was predeceased by a son, Steven M. Auvil on July 2, 2003.
He is survived by mother, Rose Auvil of Florida; son, William P. Auvil of Louisiana; daughters, Amanda K. Auvil of Wiscasset, and Stephanie Auvil of North Dakota; brother, John Auvil of Florida; sisters, Stella Shelby and Virginia Noon, both of Florida; granddaughter, Ava Zimmermann of Wiscasset; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Sat., July 9 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset with military honors.
