Gerri Carleton, 94, of New Harbor, died peacefully on Feb. 1. She resided in a nursing home in Midlothian, Va. at the time of her passing.
She was born in Woolwich in 1916 and attended Morse High and Maine Central Institute. She graduated from Tufts in 1937 and then on to Simmons College for a MSW. At the age of 12 she christened the Carlton Bridge.
In 1944 she married Dr. E.B. Carleton of Troy, N.Y. and they had three children.
She is survived by her children, Judy Van Rensselaer of Midlothian, Va., Stott Carleton of Edgecomb and Jerri Golis of Lambertville, N.J.; six grandsons; and 11 great-grandchildren.
