Gordon B. Humphrey Jr., 60, of South Bristol, passed away peacefully at the LincolnHealth – Miles Campus on the afternoon of Dec. 23 after a long battle with liver cancer. Born on Nov. 19, 1956, he was the son of Gordon and Ida (Webber) Humphrey.
Gordon was a lifelong area resident, and a graduate of Lincoln Academy. After graduation, he served as an MP in Germany for the U.S. Army. He worked as a sternman for several local lobstermen for many years, and his greatest interest was in any kind of fishing, whether it be fresh or salt water. He loved being on the water, and his greatest wish was for one more boat ride.
He was predeceased by his mother, Ida Humphrey, in 2013.
He is survived by father, Gordon Humphrey Sr.; sister, Linda Ross; niece and husband, Carrie and Phil Todd and their children, Kiara and Trey; as well as several cousins and aunts.
A memorial gathering will be held in the near future, and will be announced as soon as possible.
