Gwendolyn (Colborne) Follett, 82, of Pemaquid and Damariscotta, passed away on the morning of Feb. 26 at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta. She was the loving wife of the late Lee Follett, who passed away on April 17, 2008.
Born in Malden, Mass. on March 29, 1931, she was the daughter of Orland and Fannie Colborn. Raised in Melrose, Mass., she graduated from Melrose High School in 1951, and Burdett College in 1953.
She worked for many years as a secretary for a Boston insurance company. Her next profession was as a nurse, caring for elderly patients in the Colborne Nursing Home, owned and operated by her parents. She met and married her husband Lee, and ultimately retired to Pemaquid Harbor.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Lee Follett; and siblings, Orland Jr. and Peggy.
She is survived by her brother, Leo Colborne; sister-in-law, Estelle Colborne; as well as many nieces and nephews, including her nephew, Earl Follett of Damariscotta.
Funeral services will be private in Massachusetts.
