Harold C. Kennedy, 62, of Whitefield, died suddenly May 20 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. He was born Jan. 24, 1946 in Damariscotta, a son of Guy Kennedy, Jr. and Christine Eugley Kennedy. He grew up in Waldoboro and graduated from Waldoboro High School in the class of 1964.
He worked for the Maine State Prison as a guard for 17 years. He later worked for Hunt Brothers Lumber as a truck driver for many years. He had worked as a truck driver for Poole Brothers for the last 20 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to be outdoors and being on the water. He also enjoyed four-wheeling. He often dug clams with his brother, Dickie. He loved going on his annual summer trip to Prince Edward Island. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He would help anyone in need.
Harold was predeceased by his father, Guy Kennedy, Jr. and by his first wife, Sandra Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Kennedy of Whitefield; mother, Christine Kennedy of Waldoboro; daughters, Helen Archer and husband John of Brunswick; Georgiann Clark and husband Randy of Damariscotta; Penny Keller of Newcastle; Kimmie Kennedy of Edgecomb; Marie Menchaca and husband Leo of Florida; Audrey Booker and husband Paul of Belgrade; and Laura Duffy and husband Steve of Fairfield; sons, Walter Brewer, Jr. and wife Mary of Waldoboro; Stanley Brewer and companion Regina Adujant of Nobleboro; and Steve Gerstel of California; brother, Dickie Kennedy of Waldoboro; several grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; a great-nephew; and mother-in-law, Victoria Chandler of Nobleboro.
Visiting hours 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thurs., May 22 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Funeral 2 p.m., Fri., May 23 at the Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Jefferson, 10 a.m., Sat., May 31.
