Herbert William Geroux, Sr., 80, of Woolwich, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Woolwich on Feb. 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie (Weaver) Geroux.
He is survived by his children, Herbert Geroux, Jr. and wife Terri, John Geroux and girlfriend Mary, Jaye Dorr, Suzanne Geroux, and Julie Geroux; longtime companion Hope Rankin, her son Jay, and his daughter Isabella; siblings, Merle, Jim, John, and Ted Geroux, and Marion Webber; and grandchildren, Jacob Snyder, Wesley Nieves, Calla and Tyler Dorr.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathryn Sheldon; granddaughter Laurie Sheldon; and siblings Kenneth Seigers, Virginia Seigers Buzzell, Anne Seigers Worstel, Maurice and Neil Geroux.
Herb will be lovingly remembered by all. A soft spoken man with a love for the great outdoors, he always had a story to share along with a big smile and gentle laugh.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Sat., June 6 at the Trask Cemetery in Jefferson.
