Irven A. Gammon, 94, of Warren, passed away Dec. 15 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center.
Irven was born Jan. 11, 1912, in Warren, the son of David Leonard Gammon and Rose Moody Gammon. He graduated from Warren Academy.
On Oct. 8, 1933, Irven married Hazel Moody and they resided in Warren for 73 years.
Irven was a road deputy during WWII.
He was employed by C.R. Wallace and Son from 1937-1969, 20 years of which were a milk route; he ran Gammon’s Garage, a truck repair shop, from 1969-1989; had a dairy farm for many years; and was on the budget committee for the Town of Warren.
Irven was a member of the White Oak Grange.
He was predeceased by his great-grandson, Matthew Gammon; and foster children, Ruby Sidelinger, Ernest Starrett and Margaret Caler.
Survivors include his loving wife of 73 years, Hazel M. Gammon; daughter, Sadie E. Burr and husband Robert of Groton, Mass.; son, Alton I. Gammon and wife Sandra of Warren; grandchildren, Douglas P. Kuntz and wife Rosemary of Northbridge, Mass., Julie S. Defino and husband Douglas of Danbury, Conn.; Rev. Irven A. Gammon and wife Brenda of Florence, Mass.; Martin J. Gammon and wife Cindy of Union, Lee A. Gammon and wife Heather of Warren, and Vicky S. Gammon of Jefferson; step-grandchildren, Catherine A. Biliouris of Ashby, Mass., Christine A. Lippincott of Sandwich, Mass., David S. Burr of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Susan D. Clarkin of Chesterfield, Mo.; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours 7-9 p.m., Tues., Dec. 19 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
Celebration of Irven’s life 2 p.m., Wed., Dec. 20 at Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Jordan officiating.
Reception will follow the service at the Second Congregational Church in Warren.
