James “Jimmy” William Osier, 65, passed away March 23 in Augusta. He was born Jan. 1, 1950 to James E. Osier and Virginia Buldoc.
After graduating high school, Jimmy enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he spent the next 21 years serving our nation. After retiring from the Navy, Jim enrolled in the University of Maine in Augusta. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Science Business Administration as well as few associate’s degrees.
Jim was a social, active man who was deeply involved in volunteering his time to the American Legion in Palermo, which he loved dearly. He devoted the rest of his time to the care and well being of his friends and family.
He will be remembered as a loving, caring, generous, and all around amazing person.
He was predeceased by his parents, James E. Osier and Virginia Bolduc Osier Knight; and sister, Cynthia Irene Osier.
He is survived by his step-mother, E. Marie Osier of Augusta; siblings, Elaine and husband L. Robert Crockett of Pittston, Leo and wife Nancy Osier, Leona Osier Fisher of Meredith, N.H., Nina Osier of Augusta, Cynthia and husband David Quintal of Macon, N.C., and Mona Knight of South Bristol; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Alisha Brandy.
A service with military honors was held March 28 at Staples Funeral Home in Gardiner. A graveside burial will be held at Harbor Cemetery in Friendship at a later date.
