Janet Louise (Korb) Ganson, 63, of Chamberlain, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away March 6 in Damariscotta.
The daughter of the late Roland and Margaret Korb, she was born in Lawrence, Mass. on Oct. 5, 1947.
She married George Ganson and together they relocated their family to Maine where she continued her teaching career, working at the Jefferson Village School until her death.
She had a love of gardening and enjoyed sitting back with a good book. Most of all, she was a dedicated mother to her only son, George Jr.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, Roland and Margaret Korb; as well as her husband, George Ganson Sr.
She is survived by her son, George Ganson Jr. of Chamberlain; sisters, Margaret and husband Dennis Biery of Derry, N.H., Nancy and husband Paul Waterhouse of Bridgeton and Sue and husband Steve Murgo of North Andover, N.H.; brothers, Eric Korb and wife Donna of Windham and Leif Korb and wife Joan of Plaistow, N.H.; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral mass 11 a.m., Fri., March 11 at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the New Harbor Cemetery in the spring.
