Jean Deloris Simmons, 84, of Waldoboro, passed away on the morning of March 3, 2019 in Florida. Born in Waldoboro on June 9, 1934, she was the daughter of Raymond and Edna (Cuthbertson) Jackson.
A beloved lady to her family, friends and community, she passed away surrounded by her family, and all the love and compassion that she lived by and taught throughout her life. She will be missed so much, but heaven has received one great lady!
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas W. Simmons Sr.; daughter, Bonnie J. Simmons; granddaughter, Jennifer Simmons; grandson, Thomas W. Simmons III; great-granddaughter, Kayla Hutchins; and a brother, Raymond Jackson Jr.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Cathy Kahn of Waldoboro, and Tammy Mills and her husband Charles Sr. of Bristol; two sons, Thomas Simmons Jr. and his wife Laurie of Waldoboro, and Timothy Simmons and his wife Deborah of Nobleboro; sisters, Gloria Juhase of Texas, and Faye Womack of Oklahoma; brother, Rodney Jackson of Virginia; grandchildren, Laura Cooley and husband Greg, Holly Smeltzer and husband Paul, Bonnie Moody and husband Matthew, Becky Khan, Bryant Hutchins and wife Angela, Brandie Delano and husband Matthew, Ashley Simmons and partner Michael Niles, Amanda Carter and husband Tony, and Leon “Buddy” Ryan Jr. and partner Tasha Gardner; sister-in-law, Evelyn Reed of Waldoboro; two brothers-in law, Wayne W. Simmons and his wife Barbara of Waldoboro, and Wendell “Billy” Simmons of Waldoboro; as well as 25 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be announced and held in the spring, at the Orff’s Corner Cemetery in Waldoboro.
