Jerry Wayne Closson Sr., 71, of Boothbay Harbor, died on April 9 at the Hospice/Palliative Care Unit, Togus VA Medical Center, Augusta.
He was born on June 30, 1939 in Otter Creek on Mount Desert Island to Lewis E. and Phyllis (Whitmore) Closson. He graduated from Pemetic High School in Southwest Harbor in 1957.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna L. (Davis) Closson; sons, Wayne Closson and wife Mary of Boothbay Harbor, Todd Closson of Portland and Kyle Closson of Southport; daughter, Amy Shaw and husband Robbie of Southport; and grandchildren, Lewis Closson of Ohio, Michael Closson of South Portland, Megan Closson of Salem, Mass. and JoAnna and Robert Shaw of Southport.
Celebration of his life 1 p.m., Sun., April 17 at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor, with the Rev. Sarah Foulger officiating.
