Joanne “Jo Jo” D. Russell, 37, of Alna, formerly of Bath, died Dec. 6 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born in Bath on Jan. 29, 1979, a daughter of Samuel C. and Dorothy E. Russell.
She attended Bath schools and Morse High School and was employed by Brackett’s Market, The Harbor Light Café, Yum Mee Restaurant and Shaws, all in Bath. In 2006 she was employed at Shaws in Wiscasset as a deli clerk.
She loved doing crafts, spending time with her family, friends and especially her son, Haiden.
She is survived by son, Haiden R. Dunning of Westport Island; brothers, Edward M. Russell of Alna, Samuel C. Russell III and wife Cathy M. of West Bath, and Peter J. Russell and wife Heather of Waldoboro; sisters, Dorothy “Dee Dee” C. Rogers and husband Randy of Brunswick, and Margie A. Hodgdon of Westport Island; sister-in-law, Gail L. Russell of Richmond; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Jo Jo’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Dec. 17 at the Woolwich-Wiscasset Baptist Church, 15 Fellowship Dr., Woolwich. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the church fellowship hall.
