Judith W. Williams, 68, passed away Jan. 8 at Midcoast Senior Health, Brunswick.
She was born Jan. 24, 1939 in Maine, the daughter of Donald and Edith Ward Wade.
She was a graduate of Lisbon Falls High School, class of 1957. She received her B.S. in nursing from Columbia University in New York and her Masters from the University of Connecticut. She worked in the nursing profession in New York City, N.Y., Hawaii and Tokyo, Japan, primarily in intensive care, recovery and emergency care.
When Judith returned to Maine, she worked for the State of Maine in case management, counseling abused woman during court sessions. She also was active as a volunteer in various organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Senior Spectrum and the Waldoboro Public Library as well as being an active member of St. John Baptist Episcopal Church of Thomaston.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Edward Williams in 1992 and father, Donald Wade.
Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Ellen Williams Fix of Seven Valley, Penn.; mother, Edith Lucille Wade of Brunswick; brothers, S. Thomas Wade of Winslow, and James Richard Wade of Bristol; and close friends, Peggy Heltosky, Mary Austlander, Andie Burnham and Sally Goodsell.
Celebration of her life 11 a.m., Mon., Jan. 14 at St. John Baptist Episcopal Church, Thomaston with the Rev. Peter Jenks officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
